Honorable Mention

I applied to be on the Design Team for one of the best scrapbook stores in Michigan...The Scrapbook Zone in Farmington Hills. I found out yesterday that I was selected as Honorable Mention and a Guest Designer for August 2007 - I'm excited and disappointed all at once.

I made a special present for Jason for his birthday last week (per his request - a tag album to display at work!) and I liked it so well that I had to be an Indian Giver and get it back from him to send in for the Design Team "contest"!

So, here's some pictures of it, so at least we can see it while I wait to get it back...

Happy Valentine's Day

Well, I may not be with my Valentine on this frigid February day, but I do have some flowers to keep me company...

And how cute are THESE! Maya and Porter made them at Grandma Jane's - the kids baked these cakes in heart - shaped little ceramic ramekins (just ask Grandma Jane what it's like giving day care kids eggs to crack!!) - then frosted and sprinkled them themselves - and it's topped with little heart-shaped pictures! Hmm....not sure Jason's will last until he gets home in a couple of days!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Lilly Baker - First Grader!

So, my little Lilly came home yesterday with her first semester report card from First Grade (and also announced today that her teacher has moved on from reading the kindergarten Junie B. Jones series to Junie B - First Grader)!

I have to quote the comments on her report card - I really should frame them...so proud of this kid:

Lilly is having a wonderful first grade experience. She is successful both academically and socially. She is friends with all her classmates and her kind and caring ways shine through every single day. I love being greeted each morning with Lilly's pretty smile and terrific attitude. She is so excited to learn and willing to work hard in everything she does....Lilly's writing is a welcomed sight to my eyes! Everyday she writes with a creative flair and has some real talents pouring onto her paper...Lilly is a classroom leader. I love how she helps others, how she respects others, her sweet manners. There's too many marvelous attributes to mention, I am totally head over heels in love with this girl! Thank you Mom and Dad for all you do to make school important in Lilly's life.

How about THAT? I mean, her teacher DID make me tear up at our first parent-teacher conference with all the great things she had to say - but this is typed out on her report card - forever saved, in print and the school's computer system!

Great job, Lil. We're proud of you, and totally head over heels in love with you, too!

Back from Cali!

Well, it wasn't nearly as warm as I would have liked, but it was a successful trip both for business and pleasure. You can read more about it at our company blog....link from www.megameet.com.

Unfortunately, in my absense, my grandmother and godmother, whom I loved dearly, could no longer fight the infection that was ravishing her body when I left...and she left us to be with my dear grandfather, whom she has missed more than words can say from the moment he was gone.
I love them. I miss them terribly.
